My painting of a bird's nest, heart-shaped rock and ball of twine represents many things to me. It symbolizes how all things are connected: our homes, our hearts and the people who live there.

I found the heart-shaped rock on a family holiday in Maine. I modelled my nest with its brown-speckled blue eggs after the nest of one of our backyard birds, a song sparrow. In my painting, a piece of the bird's nest touches the rock. There are bits of twine woven into the nest and there is a lovely spiral piece of twine that winds its way through the painting. I wanted to convey a sense of connection. I've titled the painting "This is where my heart lives".

This print of my painting would be perfect offered to a bird or nature lover, someone moving into a new home, newlyweds or someone having a baby.

Unframed archival print titled "This is where my heart lives"
Paper Size: 11 x 8½ inches
Image Size: approximately 9 x 5 inches
Materials: Epson Ultrachrome Inks on beautiful Japanese Velvet Fine Art Paper (100% cotton rag, 260 g/m², 19 mil)

I spend ages on my prints making sure that they are as close as possible to my original watercolors. I produce them in my studio on my Epson R1900 printer.

The print is on 8½ x 11" paper with a generous border to ease framing. It would fit perfectly in a mat with an 8" x 10" opening or 8" x 10" frame if trimmed.

In the first photo, I show the print trimmed to 8 x 10 to fit in Ikea's beautiful Sondrum frame.

I will mail your print in a sturdy, rigid kraft envelope. The print will be enclosed in a cello sleeve and protected with extra cardboard. I will sign and date your print on its back.

All monitors are slightly different so the colors appearing on your screen may be slightly different than those of the print. Most often, the colors in your print will be more delicate than what is probably showing on your monitor.
