I just love the simple elegance of antique white ironstone or whiteware. This is a beautiful antique Greenwood China ironstone platter from the1800s. Marked/stamped " Greenwood China, Trenton N.J." on the underside

A perfect platter for serving your favorite foods-- or use in the bath to stack your soaps, or on a dresser to hold your keepsakes and jewelry ..

The platter measures 15" l x 10" w x 1.75" h In beautiful condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Some very minor surface wear

A little history:
The Greenwood China Company was established in 1862 by William Tams, an experienced potter from Staffordshire, England, who went into business with several Trenton investors. It- was one of the largest producers of household and hotel china and remained in existence for more than 70 years. In the 1800's Trenton N.J was one of the major pottery producers in the US- the other being in East Liverpool Ohio.
