This Brooklyn neighborhood is home to many ethnics groups as well as a thriving artist community. The land where Williamsburg is located was purchased in 1638 by the Dutch from the Native Americans. It was later taken over by the English in 1664 and the name was anglicized to Bushwick. The village of Williamsburgh (spelled with an “h” at the end) became incorporated in the town of Bushwick in 1862. It was a center for ship building as well as sugar refineries. Remnants of these industries are still around such as the defunct Domino Sugar factory near the shore of the East River.

This is a reproduction of an original monoprint. **Frame and mat not included.** The prints are created through a monoprint process where the photographic image is transferred onto watercolor paper.  Afterwards, color pencil and occasionally gouache are used to augment the transferred image. See more information on my work process in my ""About"" section.

This is a signed print. The image is a 5” x 3.7”. The entire print is 8"" x 10"". Printed on 130 lb coated card stock. Frame dimension is 9""x11"" and 1.25"" deep.
