This charming five piece set of serving dishes was made in Haiti, probably in the mid 60's at a special shop set up by the Salvation Army to provide employment for blind and handicapped workers. Great for your poker or bridge party or just plain cute for your party table! The article referenced below from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette describes the wood used as either Mahogany or Golden Taverneau. The base platter measures 12" square and the individual "suit" dishes are between 5" and 6" across. Super clean and in great shape!
