Made from solid, machined aluminum, this unbranded table lighter stands 5-3/4" tall and carries no manufacturer marks. I have a very similar lighter in my personal collection marked "UNIVERSAL PRODUCTS CO, LOS ANGELES. CALIF." on the fuel cap screw. The fuel cap is unmarked on this one for sale, but was probably also manufactured by Universal. The front of aluminum body is engraved "SKA". This may be the previous owners initials, though I like to think it's an homage from a passionate Specials fan. The lighter features the factory original wood base and uses a lift arm design that operates much like Dunhills and other roller lighters from this era. To light - lift up the arm to expose the wick and spin the elongated, side-mounted cylindrical roller clockwise with your thumb. This action turns the spark wheel against the flint, lighting its wick. Simply close the arm with your finger to extinguish the flame. The flint chamber is accessed by removing the spring loaded screw behind the spark wheel; fuel is added from the base.

This table lighter works very well and is in beautiful condition. It will be shipped with a flint and without fluid. (Please do not store this lighter with the flint though, as it will deteriorate and become impacted over time.) I've completely disassembled and cleaned the firing mechanism, unblocked the flint chamber, trimmed/tested the original wick and restored it to full working order. It sometimes takes a couple of tries to light, but sparks strongly and lights reliably. I've polished the aluminum body on a high-speed buffing wheel, giving it a mirror-like finish. I've provided high quality photos to offer the best preview of this lighter's condition. My studio lighting accentuates very minor surface imperfections in the reflective, polished aluminum finish, imperfections which are much subtler when viewing this piece under normal lighting conditions. Simply put - this lighter looks even nicer in person than my photos show here. Please take a look and feel free to ask any questions.
