Fused Glass Dinoflagellate Pendant: Ceratium

Ddinoflagellates are a large group of flagellate protists. Most are marine plankton, but they are common in fresh water habitats, as well. Many dinoflagellates are known to be photosynthetic, but a large fraction of these are in fact mixotrophic, combining photosynthesis with ingestion of prey. Dinoflagellates are the largest group of marine eukaryotes aside from the diatoms. Being primary producers makes them an important part of the aquatic food chain.

This green one belongs to the genus Ceratium and features three "horns" and two flagella (the transverse flagellum coiled around the middle, and the longitudinal flagella coming up from the top.)

3" long (not including the wire flagella and bail). Features a fused in wire bail and Comes with a 18" black silicon rubber cord with a snap closure.
