DESCRIPTION

Ginger is vintage v-neck spring cardigan, with a swallow pattern on the front.
It was designed to be worn cropped with a slightly cinched waist thanks to 1x1 ribbing.
However, if you can make a more classical long and straight version. In that case, instructions for a different rib band will be given.
This pattern was created in collaboration with De Rerum Natura.

S1 (91 cm/36 inches) / S2 (96 cm/ 38 inches) / S3 (102 cm/ 40 inches) / S4 (107 cm/ 42 inches)/ S5 (114 cm/ 44 inches) / S6 (120 cm/ 47 inches) / S7 ( 126 cm/ 50 inches)
Recommended ease: 5 cm (2 inches) of positive ease

CONSTRUCTION

Ginger is worked top-down with raglan sleeves. First the top is worked with increases for the v-neck and the raglan.
At the same time, the swallow motif is worked on both fronts.
The sleeves are put on hold while continuing the body with the swallow motif on the fronts.
The hem is worked with a 1x1 rib over 8 cm to cinch the waist for a retro look, or with a broken rib pattern for the longer and straighter version.
3/4 length sleeves are worked in the round, ending with the same rib pattern as the body.
Stitches are picked up at the front and neck to work the button band.

10x10 cm: 24 sts x 36 r in stockinette stitch

60 to 100 cm circular needles
3.5 and 3 mm needles, or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions:
7 or 8 12 mm buttons
