This is a beautiful old John Gould lithograph from around the 1940s published by I B Fischer Co., (IBFCo) stamped on the bottom right. It pictures a fork-tailed refulgent woodnymph hummingbird, Thalurania Refulgens, from South American. John Gould's (1804-1881, ornithologist) lithograph shows two of them flying through beautifully detailed foliage with a blue sky background. They are so vibrant that it almost seems like these are hand painted watercolors. They are a large at about 16 inches tall by 13 inches wide for the framed opening of the lithograph, and the frame itself measures about 25 inches tall by 21 inches wide. The frame and matting are in good shape with some paint loss around the frame edges. The back of the frame is marked "The Kendrick Bellamy Co. Denver," and the Genus and species name of the bird and the name "Gould" are glued on the bottom backside of the frame. There is also a date of the framing marked in pencil: 7-8-57.

PLEASE NOTE I am selling another Gould hummingbird lithograph as well from the same era, same framing and size, so these could easily make a beautiful pair of Gould artwork displayed on your wall! I will combine shipping if I send both to the same address.

SHIPPING: I will send this package to you within 3 days of receipt of payment. Thank you!
