Absolutely wonderful tea set from Japan. Fantastic hand painted designs. The markings clearly show that this set is from the Takito company who were an early competitor of Noritake. and used some of the similar Moriage a'la Kyoto Satsuma designs, such as the country cottages shown here.

The Takito company 1880-1948, is mostly known as one of those specializing on the Lustre ware type of decoration. The T&T diamonds mark date this set from the late 20s or early 30s.

This set was obtained from an estate that has owned this since the 40s, when it was brought back by a GI from Okinawa when he was stationed there. It was treasured and used and in full disclosure It does show signs of use here and there, but for such a rare find, the condition is remarkable. We hope this set can find a home that treasures it as much as the previous owners.

It is a complete set.
Sugar Bowl
4 Teacups and Saucers

For reference the Teapot measures about 4.5" to 5" high.
