Birdseye Maple Spurtle

This beautifully handcrafted spurtle features a turned Scottish thistle on the top. What's a spurtle? A spurtle, or porridge stick, is a Scottish kitchen tool that dates back from at least the fifteenth century. In it's simplest form it is little more than a stick, but these spurtles hand turned by John are far nicer than any stick. Sanded to a satin finish these are the handiest kitchen tools I've found and I use mine all the time for stirring oatmeal, rice, pasta, just about anything. Turned of beautiful hardwoods and sealed with a mineral oil and beeswax food safe finish. It's the kitchen tool you didn't know you needed, but you really do!

Measures approx. 12" long.

Listing is for 1 Birdseye Maple spurtle.
