Here is a skein of deep oak brown that was dyed with black walnut hulls gathered last fall in the small town where I live. The skein was then given a dip in my indigo vat to make the color deeper and more of a rich chocolate brown.

This reeled, worsted weight, single ply skein is 85% wool and 15% mohair. The picture for this yarn was taken outside in natural light. Please remember that colors can look different with different types of indoor lighting or even on different computer monitors. In the picture with many skeins, this is the skein on the bottom left.

The skein is 4 ounces (113 grams) and 180 plus yards (about 164 meters). This yarn knits up beautifully on size 7 or 8 needles. I like to use a size G or H crochet hook. This is the type of yarn I use to make knitted hats, rainbow balls, and crochet pouches. I use fabric softener from the health food store in the final rinse to smooth down the fibers. Thanks for lookin'!
