Amazing Edwardian into the 1920's Crepe Cape with stunning embroidered detail. In pristine condition and very stable/wearable. The color is simply divine, an earthy taupe. This cape is from the early 20's possibly earlier and has a large plush sewn collar and hand stitched unique designs on the outside. The tag says Blackstone shop Chicago. The only info I could find was for the Blackstone hotel in Chicago built in 1910. It had some store/services offered inside. I am not sure if the millinery shop was one or not. Feels like a silk based crepe. After some expert eyes the piece and price has been reevaluated due to its construction and significance.

STATS: See tag image. Blackstone Shop.
One size

Condition: Excellent one slightly darker area on the back but very light and it is hard to see as if color changed due to age. About 1-1.5"

See my article on the cape:

Hotel History:
Again, not sure if it is related but - The Blackstone hotel and the adjacent Blackstone Theatre were built on the site of Timothy Blackstone's mansion by John and Tracy Drake finished around 1910. Has a luxury history with presidents staying and famous guests. Fell into neglect but was restored and reopened-in use to date. Was used in films such as The Untouchables.

Gangster ties: The hotel is linked to many Chicago mobs Capone and Charles "Lucky" Luciano.
