Item details

glass, nylon, silver plated metal

Kumihimo is the Japanese form of braid making. The most prominent historical use of the cords was by samurai as both a functional and decorative way to lace their and their horses' armor. Kumihimo cords are now used as ties on jackets and obijimes, which are used to fasten an obi or kimono sash. They also make beautiful necklaces.

Cool and elegant are the best word to use to describe this necklace. Eight cords of shaded blue nylon ribbon are braided together to make this gorgeous necklace. Twenty six lovely blue-colored Unicorne borosilicate beads are braided into this necklace. The necklace is adjustable from 18 1/2 to 21 inches. The findings and chain are silver-plated metal.
