This lamp is made from a piece of Bristlecone Pine that we got from around 12,000 feet in elevation, near the timberline. It's one of the few trees that grow there, and when it is killed by fire,as this one was, extreme weather conditions actually work on the tree. When we find these on wind blown slopes, they are often almost a bleached white color on one side and gray on the other. The burned trees will not deteriorate for hundreds of years up there.
This piece was almost white, when we sprayed it with lacquer,it turned shades of a slight burnt umber color. The base is also made from a piece of bristlecone pine.We use a high quality antique brass lamp kit in our lamps.
Bristlecone Pine is the oldest living organism in the world.A tree in California has been aged at over 4,700 years old.It is a very hardy tree as seen in our 5th photo,a bristlecone with only a strip of bark left curling around the dead center of the tree.

The lamp shade is not included.

The lamp is 16" to the bottom of the socket and to the top of the 9" harp is 27".The base is aproximately 9" in diameter.
