Interesting antique pendant, originally a pocketwatch fob, circa 1860s-1880s. Constructed of rose gold over brass with an enameled front and hinged three-dimensional knight's helmet at the top. The front depicts a shield with the letters FCB, which is the symbol for the Fraternal Order of Knights of Pythias, a fraternal organization founded in 1864 and dedicated to the cause of universal peace. Has a soldered loop at the top of the knight's helmet for hanging. The pendant measures approximately 1 1/2" tall including its loop and is 3/4" wide. It is in good condition for its age, but does show wear to the gold wash, patina/tarnish, and light wear to the enamel.
