Okay, I named this "Crackled Ivory and Blue" and I hope that people don't first see it as 'cracked' - it certainly isn't that! It is crackled because of the effect of adding a layer of fine silver foil to the ivory color - it turns it all toasty and adds wonderful mosaic-like patterns. In this bead I also added some areas of glass enamel powders in shades of blue and a hint of green and I just love the reactions with the foil! Very earthy and organic.

This large spree shape measure 25mm hole to hole x 25mm and was made on a 3/32" mandrel.

All of my beads are handmade by me in my home studio in Tucson, Arizona. I work in both borosilicate (hard glass) and soda lime glass (soft glass), although boro is my first love!. All of my beads are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln and the bead holes cleaned. For a larger selection of birds and more be sure and check out my website at:
