BOOK INFO -

Highpockets by John. R Tunis, illustrated by Charles Beck. 1962 edition published by Scholastic Book Services.

Softcover.

SIZE -

186 pages / 4.25 x 6.4 x .4 inches / 10.5 x 16 x 1.2 centimeters

CONDITION -

Please see the images above for an accurate representation of what the book looks like, but...

The color/image of the cover has been ripped off in two places on the front & is (in general) quite worn. Small rips to the corners of the spine. When you open the book, it is quite discolored and you can see that there is some damage to the spine. That being said, at this point - the damage mostly seems to be to the first few pages (loose-ness-wise)... other than that, you can read the book easily: no pages seem in danger of falling out.

ON THE BACK COVER -

His name--back home in North Carolina--was Cecil McDade. To millions of fans, he's Highpockets, right fielder for the Dodgers.

And to these same millions, in spite of a first-rate hitting and fielding performance, he's the most unpopular player in the league. Even his teammates don't like him.

Why?

Because he's not a team player. Because he's all for Cecil McDade. He doesn't give a hoot about anyone else. He's in baseball strictly for what he can get out of it.

Then something happens--and he's jolted right down to his cleats.
