I call this 2-piece set a "berry bowl", partly because of the way I planned to use it when I made it. Rinse the berries in the colander, sprinkle a bit of sugar on top (or not) and put the plate under it ...and there you go.

But don't let my narrow vision stop you from using it for anything that comes to mind - fruit, pasta etc.

The two separate pieces make for easy cleaning and storage. There are plenty of holes for drainage and vent slots in the foot for drainage when it sits on the plate.

This piece is thrown and trimmed on a wheel. Holes are punched through the clay at the proper stage in drying. When the piece is completely dry, it is "scrubbed" to smooth out any rough spots.

The colander is about 7-1/2" diameter and 3-1/4" deep. The plate is about 5-1/2" diameter.

This is a repetitive item and the picture is representative of the glaze, Each one is slightly different, but that's what makes them special.
