Welcome to Clockwork Firebird Designs! I specialise in costume creations ranging from stage & screen to cosplay, and everything in between. Each item listed is hand crafted by yours truly, and I can easily make items to order if you require a different size/colour. I regularly take commissions for large costumes and armour, as can be found on my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/clockworkfirebirddesigns/ or on my website: http://www.ephyn.webs.com/
If you have any questions or enquiries please don’t hesitate to message me.

Within the range of items I make are two specific ‘lines’ of items: “Give Me Thorns” and “Crown of Gears”, the former catering to a spiky, high-fantasy aesthetic of gothic jewellery and dramatic lines, whilst the latter caters to the steampunk aesthetic and is far more suited to airships, ‘legitimate mercenaries’ and other such personages.

This listing is for a pair of greaves from the "Crown of Gears" range. They are worn on the legs and protect the wearer against briars, thorns, other sharp things and general lower leg injury. They fasten via three buckles and straps per greave.

These greaves have a decorative 'crown' to them which doubles as a knee guard, in the form of leather silhouetted gears. This style is, in fact, where the "Crown of Gears" name originates from! Aside from the front straps and buckle straps everything as been hand dyed. The straps on the front are for decorative purposes but can be used to attach trinkets, weapon loops and other items.

With all leather items, small cuts/whorls in the material are natural features of the leather itself. Where specified, my items are hand dyed and sealed with a waterproofing agent. Should an item get soaking wet, simply remold to the original shape and dry it in a warm area to restore the form to it. Excessive soaking of tooled items may damage the tooling. Dyed items may fleece small amounts of dye when new. If you have any concerns or queries please message me.
