Vintage Ceramic Unique Hoot Owl

He is a cutie, isn't he? I found him at a neighborhood sale in a retirement community in Florida. He reminds me of the Mexican pottery that is stained in multi-colors. He stands on top of a tree stump. The stump has some great texture of natural wood. The piece is hollow, and there is a tiny chip on the bottom of the piece (not noticeable unless you turn it over). There are three tiny holes in the trunk (that I believe were purposefully put there to allow heat to escape when firing.)

No stamp or signature on the bottom. The owl's chest is off-white, with brown wavy lines. The sides are stained in a light blue or aqua stain. I believe a wax resist method was used which outlines the feather detail. (see the white feathers on his back and head). I'm so tempted to keep him, but I have so many. Smile.
