Dutch Theatre Arts in the Netherlands 1992 is Illustrated and Explored through Street theater, Occupation (1940-45) Theater and Symbolism to reveal Dutch Society.

Dutch Theatre Arts in the Netherlands is a beautifully illustrated publication of 62 pages with more than 100 pictures in color and in black and white containing four essays describing Dutch theater.

"From Street Entertainment to Municipal Theatre: Theatre in the Netherlands to 1900" uses the work of well known Dutch artists to explore the Dutch theatre of the Middle Ages, the Drama Societies and theatre life in Amsterdam.

"Innovations In the Theatre at the Turn of the Century" shows the Dutch interest in modern art through the symbolism of Appia and Craig and the work of Herman Heijermans, Willem Royaards, Eduard Verkade, De Hagespelers and Het Tooneel and the International theatre exhibitiion in Amsterdam in 1922.

"Stage Artists with a Cause" shows the importance of Stage Patronage, Theatre During the Occupation (1940-1945), theatre in the cities and the countryside, a period of tranquility and Action Tomato.

"The Irrepressible Rise of Small Theatres in the Netherlands" can only be appreciated by reading the essay and looking at the colorful pictures.

This paperback book is in good condition and measures 10-1/2" x 8-1/4".

Please understand that our items are vintage, many of them quite old. Especially where previously owned books are concerned, there are frequently signs of wear - wobbly spines, discoloration and foxing, previous owners' names and/or bookplates, library markings, turned corners, faded covers. We check all our items carefully before listing them and do our best to describe their conditions accurately. If, after reading our description of an item, you have questions, please contact us before buying.
We accept returns of most items, mailed to us and postmarked within 7 days after you receive them. When they come back in their original condition (as we shipped them), we'll issue you a refund for the purchase price, excluding shipping.
If you receive an item that as been damaged in the mail, please return it to us, along with photos of the item as you received it, showing the damage, and the original packaging. (These photos are required to qualify for a refund.)
