Most of us only see it as rust, but ferric iron means much more to me. The by-product of life with oxygen and a crust that shows we were here. This yarn turns from deep oranges to pale greys and every shade between. Since it was created in a multistep immersion process, the variegation will not pool as much as flow from one shade to another.

At approximately 400 yards, the 2-ply yarn base is tightly plied and sproingy consisting of fingering weight superwash merino. It will definitely show off your stitch work nicely and when knit tightly, wear quite well. I would recommend size 0 or 1 needles for socks, larger for other items. The yarn is machine washable, with a bit more care than your average towel of course.

Please let me know if you would like the skein wound into a ball before it is shipped or if you have any questions.
