Before I listed this locket, I wore it for a day. It looks vintage, feels vintage, and is just beautiful and sweet, no getting around it. When I think of a typical vintage/antique locket, this is the kind that first comes to my mind.

The locket is very Victorian in style, but I believe this was actually made in the 1930's. I could be wrong though and it's possible that it's actually older than that. Stamped inside under the old picture of a young girl is 1/20 10K G.F. and F.M. Co in a heart. (The F.M. Co stands for the Finberg Manufacturing Company, which opened in 1888). The locket has a lovely repousse (raised) design around the border, and fancy etching around the front. The stone in the center of the heart is most likely a paste stone, and has darkened with age. It now almost looks like a marcasite. The locket has some general tarnish all over as you can see in the pictures, some of which can be seen as black spots in the raised border designs around the front and back. (I actually think with a very detailed cleaning these can most likely be removed). I don't really see any wear to the gold, and other than the tarnish its in good vintage condition. It opens and closes well and securely, and still has both metal photo holders and the plastic photo protectors.

The locket is on what I believe to be its original chain (it has the old-style donut clasp, as you can see in the fourth picture). The chain measures 18" long, and is marked gold filled.

Locket itself measures 15/16 of an inch long (excluding bale) and 3/4 of an inch wide.

*If this is a gift for someone special and you need a pretty silky gift pouch, please leave a note at checkout for me. They are complimentary and I'll include one in your package for each locket you need.

**If you purchase more than one locket at once, you pay shipping for the first item, and any additional lockets you purchase at that time are shipped free :)

Buy with confidence, I value both my customers and my lockets, and if you are not happy I gladly accept returns and exchanges. The lockets I sell are old and sentimental, and each person needs the right match.
