Vintage wooden abacus from Japan. Has 15 steel rods of beads and is marked with what might be the retail business that it was used at on the back, like a department store, etc. Extremely high quality and craftsmanship. All the dovetailing and joinery for the steel rods, etc. on the top, the bottom and on both ends are tight (and nicely done as shown), as are the nails that hold the back panel in place. Original paper label is still intact on the inside. There are some signs of age and use to the beads, so this was not made just for show, this was actually used, but certainly not abused or misused in anyway. One of the nicest examples I've ever had to offer. I would estimate this to be at least 50 years old.

Measures approx. 13" x 4 1/4" x 1 1/2".
