The 3rd photo shows: the clear sap from a sugar maple tree. It takes about 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup.

In the very late winter and early spring, the sugar maker collects sap from his sugar maple trees much as Vermont maple farmers have done for centuries.

The freezing nights and warm thawing days of early spring allow the sap to flow.

A lengthy and elaborate evaporation process in which sap is 'boiled down' until the precise thickness is reached cannot be rushed.
It takes approximately 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of Pure Maple Syrup.

Our sugarbush is nestled in a remote region of Vermont known as the Northeast Kingdom.

We bring to you and yours the wonderful taste of Vermont Maple Syrup which looks like Pure 100% Liquid Gold.

Buyer's Guide for Maple Syrup
All Vermont Maple Syrup grades are the same high quality.
Maple syrup grades do not correspond with quality but rather with flavor and color.
Generally the darker the grade the heartier the maple flavor.

This is a generalization, as grade alone will not determine flavor.
You can have two samples of the same grade side by side and each may have a dramatically different flavor.

Here are the four Vermont Maple Syrup Grades:

Fancy- Light Amber color, delicate maple bouquet
Delightfully mild maple flavor, excellent on ice cream or on foods which permit its
subtle flavor to be appreciated.
Medium Amber- Medium Amber color, pronounced maple bouquet
Characteristic maple flavor; popular for table and all around use.
Dark Amber- Dark Amber color, robust maple bouquet
Heartier maple flavor; also very popular for table and all around use.
Grade B- The strongest and darkest table grade maple syrup
Some people prefer this syrup for the table and its stronger maple flavor makes it a
great choice for cooking.

Natural Maple Syrup is also good for you.
