This summery dress dates from the late 50s to early 60s by my estimate. The dress has a full skirt, falling from knife pleats all around. There are blue plastic buttons down to the waist, a hidden snap at the waist and an overlapped slit for about 5" below the waist. There is a matching belt with covered buckle. The fabric is a blue and yellowish-tan plaid with fine vertical cords and tiny loops along the cords. From a thread-burn test I believe the fabric is a cotton/polyester blend. It is not lined. The dress is unlabeled, but I believe it was commercially made.

Condition: Very good, without any real flaws. The hem does not appear original (it has been sewn with a zigzag stitch), and the top button has been moved 1" to make the top (mainly the shoulders) a little narrower. The button could easily be changed back if desired.

Size: Large, about a US size 12 to 14 by my estimate

Bust-42"
Waist-32.5"
Hip-full
Top of strap to waist-15" (the dress is somewhat short-waisted)
Waist to hem-24.5"

Please note: I measure the dimension of the item itself, and you will need to consider what size you would want the item to be to fit well on you.
