Platystrophia are lovely 450 million year old sea shells with "Jack-O-Lantern" smiles, beautifully preserved as fossils in the creeks & woodland hillsides of scenic Northern Kentucky-- one of the richest & most ancient fossil localities in the world.

These specimens measure about 1/2 inch to an inch long. They are a bit more than a quarter pound total weight.

I found these fossils myself, and besides just being a joy to collect, these little gems have all kinds of uses! You can:

*Use them for crafts, mosaics, or mixed media art
*Glue them, drill them, cut & polish for jewelry making
*Decorate your aquarium & really impress your fish
*Use them as teaching aids

Note: If you slice a Platystrophia in half, they are usually filled with milky-white calcite crystals on the inside.

The fossils pictured are the fossils you will receive, packaged securely for safe arrival at your door.
