Six Early 1QT Glass milk bottle and Wire Carrier

The golden age of the glass milk bottle was from 1910-1950

Paper cartons first appeared in the early 1920’s but were not popular until after 1950.The late 1950s witnessed the arrival of the plastic bottle.

A few dairies still use glass bottles, but the era has essentially ended.

Antique Primitive (rusted) ¼”heavy gauge wire carrier measures approx.

9 x12. The wire spiral handle is 6” wide; the height from ground to top of handle is 14”The carrier holds six vintage glass milk bottles. Each clear bottle is 9” tall has beveled sides with raised lettering 1qt on two sides of this 4 round sided bottle. The base of each bottle has raised lettering

REG. SEALED L 52 ANU One Quart.

The bottom has a smooth Pontil off center within 3 inch diameter circle.

There is a number 70 raised on bottom as well.

Six bottles 3 of each have same markings except the number on the bottom is a raised 52 and the rim has notches under lip.

3 have number 52 with notches on lip and 3 have same markings as described with the only difference being the number 70 and the smooth lip no notches.

The carrier and the bottles are all included in this listing for auction

The wire carrier is naturally rusted

The milk bottles are vintage and are in good condition, clear glass.
