Original photograph by Bruno Bernard of Hollywood. I believe this is a photo of a stripper or showgirl. I do not recognize it as anyone famous although he certainly photographed many actresses. It has been cut to fit a perfectly vintage wooden frame with ornate design. Frame is awesome but has imperfections and flaws. The photo has a crease on the left middle. Disregard reflections.
Measures 8.5 x 10.5
Bruno Bernard better known under his artist name Bruno of Hollywood, was one pf the largest glamour photographers in the golden age of Hollywood. Mr. Bernard, who photographed such stars as Clark Gable, Tyrone Power and Elizabeth Taylor, was credited with introducing Marilyn Monroe to Jimmy Hyde, the agent who got her a contract with 20th Century-Fox. ''Remember Bernie, you started it all,'' the actress wrote in one of Mr. Bernard's 10 books on photography. One of his best-known pictures was of Miss Monroe in a windblown skirt.
Actors and actresses were not his only models - he also photographed strippers and showgirls. Photos were often censored and today rank as works of art. He died in 1987 at the age of 75. His daughter Susan recently published his works.
