This listing is for 11 vintage cocktail sticks,
circa 1950s-60s, from the P&O cruise ship 'STRATHEDEN'.
The cocktail sticks are in lightweight anodised aluminium, green 5, pink 3, 2 silver & 1 gold
- in the form of arrows, with a diamond-shaped point to spear your olive and a feather-shaped end which is marked 'P&O' one side and 'Stratheden' on the other.

SIZE : 3 inches / 7.5cm long in total.

These Glamorise pastel gems are perfect for jewellery making you could bend them into rings , stick on to hair pins, dangle earnings and neck charms.
use as photo prop, serve them with hors d'oeuvres , hold fancy sandwiches together , pop them in a vintage drink cabinet ...........

The Stratheden was built for P&O in 1937 and her maiden voyage was to Australia that year (can you imagine the glamour!?). She could accommodate around 1000 passengers. The ship served the war effort 1939-1945 and was reconditioned by P&O after the war, used as a cruise ship again until she was sold in 1964 and re-named. The ship is well-documented and you can find references on the internet if you're interested. Given the life-span of the ship, the cocktail sticks must date from c.1937-39 or 1947-64 periods, most likely the post-war era.
