This is a classic Kuchi tribal Afghan necklace with chain dangles. This astounding necklace features a huge Afghan pendant made of coin silver or gillit (a composition of brass, nickel, melted down coins and some silver) with stamped brass overlay details and a carnelian colored glass stone inset in the body of the pendant. This stunning pendant features nine clapper style bells that hang from individual chains and give the necklace a beautiful sound. The pendant dangles from a 26 inch handmade chain. The pendant is 10 inches long including the bells. Gorgeous statement piece! Please zoom in on pictures for close up details. The 4th picture shows the necklace worn at it's full length and the last picture shows the necklace shortened for a different look. Slips over the head to fit. Excellent condition!

The term "Kuchi" is a Persian word "for those who move" or "nomad". This necklace is from fifty to seventy-five years old. It was worn by nomadic tribeswomen on the eastern side of Afghanistan.

No discounts offered on this piece please. I have lots of additional pictures I can send if you would like to see them.
