Vintage Art Deco Marathon Cigarette Case with Built-in Lighter - Fan Nameplate

The height of elegance and convenience! A 1930s all-in-one cigarette case (for unfiltered smokes) and lighter. The front features a fan-shaped brown/black lacquer and gold-tone motif with a blank name plate ready for engraving. The enamel is slightly chipped off at the lighter button. The back is black lacquer with a few scuffs here and there from normal wear.

The brass lighter mechanism works, although I have not filled it with fuel or checked if the flint would spark a flame. The clasp on the cigarette case and the spring-loaded arms work perfectly - the inside is in mint condition. Label on underside of lighter reads: "Trademark - Marathon - Made in USA" Three patents stamped on it that date from 1936-1938.

I'm selling this as is and can recommend a very good vintage lighter repairman if you are looking to get it to working order.

Gramma had two similar ones like this - it's been sold, but you can check it out here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/99608221/vintage-art-deco-marathon-cigarette-case
