This unique sculpture mask was inspired by my husband and our bee hives. This piece is ready to hang. This one has been sold. I have another that is almost ready to ship.

This mask measures approximately 8 " inches long by 5 inches wide and is about 4 1/2 inches deep.

The surface is textured to look like a honey comb. Fired in a kiln to over 1900 degrees f underglazes enhance the surfaces. The small bees are made from a vintage mold that I found and are they are fired in a kiln then finished with acrylic paint. They are attache to the mask with small
wires. To finish this piece I melt wax encaustic onto the surface. Wax encaustic is a combination of beeswax (from our beehive and darmar resin) Wax encaustic has been used in sculpture and painting for thousands of years.
