One of the most collectible jewelry designers of the 1900s - Nettie Rosenstein, produced this amazing 1940s, signed in script on the back, heralidic starburst brooch. A true piece of art. This brooch is the kind of jewelry that becomes an heirloom.

A whopping 2 3/4" x 2 1/4", this gold tone metal piece has a 1 1/4" center medallion surrounded by shooting starburst rays and topped with a decorative crowned piece encrusted with pave rhinestones. The center medallion portion is dripping with more encrusted rhinestones, has a crest with a standing lion, flourishes on the sides and a crown on the top - it's stunning! There is one rhinestone missing from the very top crown - most left, and two very small ones on the lion. Not very visible to the naked eye but seen with jewelers loupe or enlarged photo - see last image. I have priced accordingly.

Nettie Rosenstein was a clothing designer of great significance, she designed Mamie Eisenhower's inauguration ball gown. After retiring from fashion for a while, Rosenstein went on to produce high quality jewelry, her first major client was I. Magnin. Her company grossed $1 million in 1937 - very successful and her pieces are still prized and highly sought after. I'm thrilled to be able to offer this one for sale.

Please convo me with any questions and, as always, THANK YOU for shopping at Everton Terrace today.
