According to some schools of feng shui, the relationship area of one's home and life is strengthened and enhanced with images or objects depicting pairs or couples. This piece is designed to be a serving platter at times, and a piece of wall art when not in use. It presents a joyful feeling of companionship as an open container for nurturing goodness.

Approximately 13 inches diameter by 4 inches deep.

It is made of recycled stoneware clay and is glazed red around the figures. Their faces are painted with underglaze and iron oxide, so the are not shiny. Their bodies are cloaked in a variegated mix of browns and blues, with some red showing through on the left figure. The center has a pool of blue glass melted in.

It can be hung on the wall with a wire wrapped around the foot, or displayed on a tabletop.

Ceramics, like relationships, are not always perfect, and this clay got some soft bubbles in the surface from getting too hot in the kiln. The couple doesn't seem to mind the imperfections. None of us are perfect, but there is a deep love and trust that emerges from accepting each other as we are.

This piece is made as a joyful and reverent celebration of a wholesome relationship. I like to think of it like this: The couple perfects the art of love in their relationship, and serves the world with their love and joy. With this piece, love may be perfected in the form of food to served on this harmonious image of togetherness.
