This is a great quality vintage 'Open Road' style fedora made by Shudde Brothers, a once high quality hat maker.

This hat is in good condition. The felt is in good condition with a few scuffs and a couple small creases on the front of the brim (see 1st photo). The felt itself is good quality though a tad stiff. This hat originally had a cattleman's crease but now has a classic fedora 'teardrop' bash. There is slight discoloration towards the top of the hat from its cattleman's crease. The first photo shows the felts natural color well.

The interior of the hat is excellent. The reeded sweatband is soft, flexible and the stitching is intact.

The hat has a faux wind cord. It is merely a button on a circular piece of elsticized string and is not attached to the hat: it is non-functional. Also, roughly half of the ribbon and bow are lightly stained (photos 1 and 3). The brim edge binding is excellent.

All in all a very attractive 'Open Road' style western fedora.

Size- 7 1/8
crown- 4.5" bashed
brim- 2.5"
