Here I have a fabulous pottery dog made probably around the 1880's in Staffordshire. I don't know whether he is a spaniel or pug but he actually I think looks like Charles the second of England with his haughty demeanour and curly locks!!

He is mainly all white although as you can see in the photos he has a slight yellowing under the glaze or in the glaze and this could possibly have happened when he was made. His face has been lightly painted around the nose, mouth and the eyes as you can see from the head photo which gives him such a haughty character and he has a fabulous mane of rough piped pottery which makes me think he probably is a spaniel!

He stands just over 4 inches tall and is a very solid little chap! I can't see any damage on him other than the slight discolouration.

Thanks for looking and any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch and have a look at my other destashing items along with my artwork!
