This cotton fabric block shows a little boy and his rooster. The little boy is named Henry Groulx and we can see him sitting on a stool smoking a cigarette, while next to him a chicken almost as big as he is stands. The cock bird appears to be a white Plymouth Rock, and is wearing a leg band. It is a reproduction based on a vintage photograph by the Parisian Studio, Paris, France, circa 1920. You can order this image in either sepia tone or black and white.

This image's copyright is owned by Library and Archives Canada, and is used by permission, reproduction reference number C-036255, and under the MIKAN ID number 3194087. We purchased the rights to use this image from L&A, and are (as far as we can tell) the only seller of this image who has done so, this image is not in the public domain.

This block is available in three sizes: 8 x 10", 5 x 7", or 4 x 6" and two color schemes: black and white, or sepia toned. Simply choose the size and color you'd like from the pulldown menu when you make your purchase.

***This is NOT AN IRON-ON transfer. It is a piece of fabric you SEW on or into a project. The image is printed from my computer onto the 200 thread count, 100% cotton fabric block.***

The image will be centered in the fabric block with a white border around it, to give you some seam allowance. Please note that vintage image sizes vary, and are not optimized for modern frames (in case you are buying the fabric with an eye to framing it.)

These fabric blocks are not colorfast when shipped, but a simple three-step process performed by you can make them colorfast if needed. The process takes about ten minutes and involves removing the paper backing, ironing the fabric block, rinsing, and ironing again. Afterwards, the blocks can be hand-washed or gently machine-washed with a small amount of fabric softener (detergent cannot be used, nor can they be dry cleaned.) Detailed instructions will be provided in your package.

This image is available in our sister store, KatyDids Cards as a greeting card, print, and fridge magnet here:
