Lovely 1950s Mother of Pearl compact set featuring lipstick case and powder compact.

The lipstick case is marked "Max Factor", but the compact is unmarked. They belonged to an aunt of mine and have seen decent usage, but are still beautiful and would look pretty on your retro dresser or vanity table. I loved typing "vanity table"! Hopefully they still exist somewhere.

The compact is gold tone metal with 20 inset rectangles of mother of pearl. There is a chip in one corner, clearly pictured. Inside there is a pink feather puff, but no powder. The mirror is in good shape and is still usable with no cracks or chips. Compact measures 2.75 by 2 3/8 inches, and is .25 inches thick.

The Max Factor lipstick case is an oval with inset mother of pearl, and one small section is missing, and measures over 2.25 inches long, 1.25 inches wide, and 0.75 inches high. The gold tone metal shows signs of heavy handling and is tarnished and there are some small spots of age on the pearls sections. Inside, the mirror shows some pitting but has no cracks or chips. The lipstick is intact, and is called "hi-society" in Dazzling Coral. The case is clearly marked on its underside.

Both close securely and will be wrapped carefully for shipping.
