Lucy Dawson (Mac) 1939 original bookplate/print from the spectacular book
- 'Lucy Dawson's Dog book' published in 1939. This is a genuine item, not a copy or reprint, guaranteed 75+ years old -excellent condition no foxing or staining.

Dookie - Corgi - drawn from life at Royal LodgeWindsor

"Mac" was the pseudonym for the artist Lucy Dawson, best known for her series of Dog Postcards, Sketches and books for publisher, Valentine's and Sons. She worked in pencil, pen, ink and oil, but was mainly known for her work in pastels. Her pastel portraits are simple, focusing upon the dog either seated or lying down. There is little clutter in the background which keeps the focus upon her canine subjects.

This is matted (mounted) and ready for you to frame and give as a wonderful present.
Mount is cream and contrasts well with the print.

Size with mount is 10" x 12"

All prints are enclosed in a clear cover and posted in hardback envelopes which state 'Please do not bend' in large red writing on the front, for their protection.

PS I have opened a sister etsy shop called CardsgaloreUK where I specialise in dog related handmade cards. Please check it out www.etsy.com/uk/shop/cardsgaloreUK These make a beautiful accompaniment to any of my vintage dog prints to make a truly unique gift.
