Rare 1930s Salem Streamline Coffeepot w/ matching Creamer & Sugar Bowl in cream w/ gold trim, "P" Monogram pattern. So moderne, so deco, so glam!

Please Note: we have a matching set of 2 "P" Monogram cups & saucers listed separately.

Do you have "A.P." or "P.A." initials? Add these to the “A” monogram dinnerware set (see last photo for example), listed in our Atomic Salem Dinnerware section: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SusabellaBrownstein?section_id=7195421

This modernistic pattern was originally featured in "Gentlemen are Born," a 1934 Warner Brothers film starring Franchot Tone and Margaret Lindsay; formal afternoon tea was served on this ultramodern service during a scene in a garden setting. Pieces in the pattern (sans monogram) were also featured in a 2011 Rue Magazine article.

Set consists of:

* Coffee Pot with Lid
* Creamer
* Sugar Bowl (no Lid)

:: Condition ::

Condition is excellent for being about 70-80 years old; gold trim is thick and bright; no chips, cracks, stains, repairs or restorations, etc. There is some light crazing, very common in this pattern.

:: Care & Handling ::

As with any china with metallic embellishments, these pieces should not be used in microwaves, and we strongly recommend hand washing. Where there is surface crazing, avoid staining by restricting contact with acidic or deeply colored liquids & foods (strong coffee, beets, etc). It’s tempting to stack the cups on top on one another, but please don’t, it wears the glaze off the back of the handles.

PLEASE NOTE: Vintage and antique dishes were often decorated with glazes containing varying amounts of lead, a toxic chemical. If you have a concern, please research before purchasing. To minimize exposure to lead when using vintage dinnerware, please observe the following precautions: use infrequently; do not expose to high heat, including microwaves, ovens, and dishwashers; avoid contact with acidic foods & liquids, especially if cracked or crazed; do not use to store food or liquids; hand wash with a gentle detergent soon after use and allow to air dry.

We are avid collectors of Art Deco dinnerware, and it’s our intention to bring together the largest collection of this unique 1930s shape available online! We have many pieces and sets yet unlisted, please contact us for more information.
