These cute little numbers are perfect for the summer. Brass dragonflies hang from black onyx and brass filigree beads from brass earwires. Dragonfly jewelry was very popular in the Victorian and Edwardian eras and I'm happy to see it making a resurgence today.

Dragonflies come out in the summer and stay with us until autumn, and are said to symbolize change, maturity, and strength. Did you know that they can travel up to 60 mph? These earrings don't do that -- they are made of brass and therefore will stay put on your ears when you wear them.

The dragonflies themselves are made from brass with an antiqued oxidized finish. The color of this finish is even, commercially applied by the finest costume jewelry finishers in the business, according to strict industry standards for jewelry components. It is a permanent finish and does not need polishing or lacquer. This brass ox plating contains no nickel. The brass filigree beads have the same finish and match the dragonflies.

Rounding this out are the onyx beads to compliment the brass. Black Onyx is the anniversary gemstone for the 10th year of marriage and is said to lend strength, enhance physical well-being, and reflect negative energy. So dragonflies and onyx -- what could be a better combo!?!
