This finger protection thimble is used for under the quilt while stitching. It was designed by Marlys Letts a avid quilter who had a problem of dropping and breaking the glass one she had used for years. This one is made with a Sterling Silver barrel and the cap is from steel which will last a life time. You could stamp a name in the thimble if you wish. The barrel is 1 1/4 inches tall to accommodate long finger nails. The cap is 3/4 inches accross and domed to help the needle slide.
