Sweet flawed antique Victorian late 1800s enameled butterfly flower locket, no chain. This piece is discounted due to the broken unusable loop at the top. The locket features a darling blue enameled design with detailed little flowers and a butterfly. It opens on the right with two tiny knobs to reveal to empty spaces inside (no photo rings or coverings). The number "41" is scratched into both sides--numbering was done back then to ensure the proper pieces were put together in the process of making lockets. The locket closes quietly and securely. The backside has a lovely etched patterned design. It appears the loop at the top was broken then bent down and possibly soldered to try to fix it--the repair isn't a good one as it's clear the loop is not large enough. The locket measures 1 inch x 5/8 inch (2.5cm x 1.7cm). Plenty of enamel wear on front as well as tarnish and plate wear to the metal which appears gold filled but is unmarked. A lovely piece for parts or repair.

Insurance is included in the shipping cost for this item.
