This photograph of an African American child was taken in the 1860's. This child was the son of a slave who worked on a farm in Virginia. I do not have any other info. On the back written in light pencil is some other info but I cannot make it out. The name George is faintly there but I do not know whether it refers to the child, his father or the slave holder. Measures 11" by 14". Photo is on thick paper board and has some scratches and one corner is torn at the top but does not go onto the photographic image.
