Steampunk Goggles - Steampunk Jewelry and Accessories by edmdesigns

Here is breath-taking pair of Steampunk goggles created from a ressurected pair of AMERICAN OPTICAL vintage driving goggles. They come with removable double magnifier loops for an over-the-top Steampunk look. Some people choose to attach the magnifying loupes permanently, but we'll leave this up to you. This amazing pair of Steampunk goggles has dark green tinted lenses and beautiful rich dark brown leather side shields and leather covering the bridge that gives them an unmistakable Steampunk look. American Optical frames are some of the finest around, and this pair is no exception. Aside from being in outstanding, MINT condition, these glasses are rock solid - it would take a lot to destroy these goggles. The glass is very thick and ready for anything. This is a tremendous pair of goggles. Grab these before they are gone.

This one is pretty easy, as these goggles, manufactured nearly a century ago, appear to have never been worn. They are nothing short of mind-blowing in beauty and condition. The lenses are flawless, but since I try to examine them for things that aren't even really flaws, I'll tell you this: there is one faint hairline surface scuff on the right lens, and one speck. That is all that could be observed in these "as new" lenses. They are deliciously smooth and clean. If you are looking for goggles that are genuine show stoppers, this is the pair you have been waiting for.

The frames of these goggles tell the same story. They are gleaming, bright, smooth silver everywhere you look. Forget about pitting, corrosion and discoloration, they haven't even dulled in their sheen and luster one bit. They sparkle like showroom new. If you buy these goggles, I recommend attaching a "LoJack", as these will surely be the envy of everyone you know.

The leather side shields are also in extraordinary condition. They are a tribute to the quality of the tanning process that was given to such a small triangle of leather back when quality was of primary importance. The leather is definitely creased as these have remained in a folder position for many, many years, but the leather is still buttery soft to the touch and remains supple and flexible in every way. There are no rips, tears or cracking of any kind. The same holds true for the leather on the nose bridge. There is a tiny portion on the top of the bridge where the leather has been scuffed, but it's small penance to pay for antique goggles in this condition. There is even a small piece of fabric in between the leather on the bridge and the bridge itself that is intended to be removed when the goggles are sold, and that piece is still there and is as clean and fresh as the day it was made. Truly amazing.

The earpieces are straight and strong and likewise are in mint condition. The metal gleams so brightly it looks as though it may be beaming light of its own. They have a protective coating for added comfort and durability, and it looks brand new. What else needs to be said...

The goggles measure approximately 135mm wide from hinge to hinge and the lenses measure approximately 52mm high, including the frames - please consider the dimensions when selecting any pair of goggles, and if you have a question please don't hesitate to ask.

* Please remember, these goggles feature professional frames and the lenses can be removed and replaced with custom prescription lenses or lenses with a different tint by any reputable optician.

This is an antique pair of goggles dating back some 80 - 100 years and yet it appears as though it was made yesterday. If you have been looking for an exceptional pair of goggles, not only has your ship just come in, it has landed on top of your house. If you have to think about this one, I can't help you, this is a no-brainer.
