This animal belonged to a local farmer in rural New Hampshire. She produced milk for the family for many years and when she had to be put down, they preserved the hide which is very large, clean, and just plain beautiful. The underside is as soft and supple as a blanket.

The hide measures at it's longest points 83-inches x 67-inches.
Go to Grampa's new FaceBook page to see ALL the photo's I have of this piece:

There are no tears, rips, holes or otherwise marring of this hide. The hide itself is so soft and supple, it feels like a well worn suede jacket. It is light grey in color. The soft underside of the hide must be nearly a 1/4-inch or more. It's thick and gorgeous. After I first listed this we had a beautifully sunny day and I hung the hide out on the line and beat it with a broom to get the dust out. It hung there all day in the sun, I have pictures of the fur and how it glistens, ask and I will email them to you. beautiful!

You can NOT "pull" out the fur, I've tried. That would be an indicator of a poor/old and wasted hide. There is no "dandruff" or unusual fur wear that did not happen after the animal was slaughtered. I have pictures of all places of suspect and will be happy to email them to you, for example the top of the back of the cow's spine has a 2-3" round furless wear spot as most old living cows do. Scant hairless spots on both sides of the neck, most likely due to the thingamajig that the cow's head and neck fits into while milking and one 1/2-inch round spot of missing fur on the right side of the cow's upper thigh..who knows how or where she got that one!

The dog you see in one of the pictures is my Max who is a 110lb Lab, BIG dog. I also placed a lawn rake on the hide in one of the pics so you can get an idea of the size of this thing. It is very very beautiful and well kept. It was used as a wall hanging (tapestry), NOT a rug.

This hide is in superb condition for it's age and for whatever use you will to put it to. As upholstery, a rug, a tapestry, how about a super king-size bed covering? If your one of those people who have a large house with a lot of wood interior, it would be awesome as a rug in the library or den. Even a place in the city such as an old warehouse with brick interior walls, add this as your rug in the sitting area. Who am I to tell you what to do with it? Resell it if you want!

I am NOT locked into the price, I will dicker... reasonably.
I do recommend buying shipping insurance.
I do not recomment shipping over seas, but I will at and it must be at your own risk and loss should something happen- buy insurance!.
I can also let you know a better shipping cost figure once you tell me where it's being shipped. That can be adjusted as well. Convo me BEFORE you go thru and make a purchase! Should I over charge for shipping costs, you will be refunded the balance less materials and handleing to ship the item).
