The Good Mourning shop is pleased to present this petite posy flower pendant carved from what appears to be gutta percha, onyx or vulcanite. The pendant is just over 1 3/4 inches round with a hand-made silver bail. The front is intricately, but somewhat rustically, carved into flowing flower petals and a textured center. The back has deeply shaped petal backs but without the detail.

The pendant is silky smooth from years of wear. In Victorian culture, the posy stood as a symbol for unending love. One posy alone, such as this, was often worn by a young woman who lost her husband or betrothed.
