Uncle John Mueller from Illinois...

This cabinet card is a photo of John Mueller from around the 1870s.

We think every face tells a story. What was Uncle John's story?
Maybe he woke up the morning that this photo was taken, reached into his closet to select his shirt, vest, and bow tie, and spotted his favorite shirt, pants and fishing vest! I bet he wished he was going fishing that morning, instead of going to the Burleigh Photography Studio to have his picture taken. While he was posing for his photo, maybe he was thinking about that Northern Pike that he almost caught the day before!
What do you think was Uncle John's story?

We have other vintage photographs in our shop (many with this same family tree record number written on them) - please click http://www.etsy.com/shop/ThirdShift?section_id=7867016 (or search our shop for "Photo") to see them all and choose your favorites.

This antique cabinet card photograph is in good condition - especially considering it is around 140 years old. There are small wear areas on the edges of the card. The photograph is intact. The bottom of the card is embossed with "Burleigh, 111 West Side Square, Springfield, Ills." The back of the card has "Uncle John Mueller" written on it in pencil. There is also a number "23.973" written on the back of the card - this appears to be a family tree record number (possibly for the Westervelt family).
