Dating from the first half of the 40s by my estimate, this jacket is labeled Fred A. Block Original, a Chicago label founded in the 1920s, according to the Vintage Fashion Guild Label Resource (Fred A. Block, written by Lizzie Bramlett, fuzzylizzie.com).

The jacket is a warm shade of grey with darker grey neatly inset around the hem and decorating the sides of the front. The fabric is wool gabardine, and the lining is crepe-textured rayon faille. The buttonholes are bound and the buttons are covered. There are good-sized shoulder pads and long, bias-cut sleeves.

Condition: Just dry cleaned and in good condition. I can see how this jacket may have been someone's favorite, and it shows wear. I've tried to show the most obvious issues in the last two squares. In the third photo you can see the pressing wear around the dark grey inset detail. It isn't press shine, but just wear that shows the inseams a bit. It's still a very wearable jacket with great style and aplomb.

Size: Large, about a US size 12 by my estimate

Bust-40" plus a little with the gussets under the arms
Circumference at hem-43"
Back of neck to hem-24.25"
Shoulder to shoulder-15"
Outer sleeve length-25"

Please note: I measure the dimension of the item itself, and you will need to consider what size you would want the item to be to fit well on you.
